Making Memories Oil Painting came about shortly after I painted Summer Memories, which is my favourite painting, completed earlier this month and due to go on sale on the site next month.
That painting and this one’s scenery was done after a visit to where my father-in-law was born at Dungog. Dungog is a little country town on the Hunter region of New South Wales situated on the Williams River.
I completely changed direction after Summer Memories and painted Playing in Puddles, a painting extremely close to my heart, where I really wanted to push the use of colour to portray the child and overall scene in an evocative manner.
I had painted so many sea and landscape paintings the past year, and really felt the need to explore approaching another landscape in a different way, hence the two woman in this painting surrounded by the same scenery as Summer Memories.
