Playing in Puddles, gained Special Recognition in the 9th Annual “All Women” Art Exhibition in January 2020
I started painting in September this year and spent more hours on it then any other painting. Although I sourced the image, I had wanted to paint it since my mum passed away early June this year after a long battle with cancer.
I kept thinking about a day when I was about five and we were running home in the rain, and I was being a bit naughty and wanted to play in the puddles, until I needed to go to the toilet really badly.
I then became distressed that I wasn’t going to make it home in time, and my mum kept say, “Don’t worry, Luvy l, I’ll fix it when we get home.”
She never got cranky. Just laughed and told me to run.
Playing in Puddles will go on sale on this site next month after it dries.
